WOODSTOCK - Hockey is back in Oxford County.
With the County being the red tier, it means minor hockey and figure skating can resume across the County. Being in red means you are only allowed 10 skaters on the ice and you can only do skills based training, no games or anything where you might come into contact with someone.
In Woodstock, Minor Hockey is ready to roll with practices starting on Friday. The Woodstock Wildcats will start having ice time on Saturday and they are still waiting for the figure skating club.
This applies to every community in Oxford County, as most arena's in the County kept their ice pads in, in preparation for a re-start. However some organizations, including Tillsonburg and Norwich will not be resuming this year and will start back up again in the fall.
If we move to the Orange level in a couple of weeks, it would mean that we can have 25 skaters on the ice at one time and the kids will be allowed to scrimmage and play games.
