Team Kean is off to the Saddledome in Calgary to try and win the Brier for Ontario.
WOODSTOCK - Team Kean is still celebrating after their huge curling victory at the 2015 Recharge with Milk Tankard in Dorchester and are now prepared to compete in Calgary for the Brier.
Team Skip and Innerkip-native Mark Kean is very excited and knows that his team will have to be on their game when the tournament begins.
"It is an incredible field. A lot of top teams, this might be of the best briers I've ever seen in terms of competitive field."
Kean recognizes the fan and community support and says that can not thank everyone enough.
Kean who started playing the game at the age of 7 at the Woodstock Curling Club knows that this is going to be no small feat to accomplish, playing against the likes of Olympians Brad Jacobs and Brad Gushue.
"We are gong to have to play at the level we played at the provincials or even better to get a shot at the playoffs. Anyone coming out of Ontario has a good chance to do well at the Brier."
This is the first year the team has been together and being rookies they have reached out to other veteran players to get a feel for what the Brier will be like.
"We are really looking forward to it. We are rookies so it is going to be exciting in that aspect and I have asked a few guys that have been there what there advice was and they said to take a step back and enjoy every moment of it, and don't worry what happens in the game you guys will do well."
Team Kean will make their Brier bebut on February 28th at the Saddledome in Calgary.
