A Porter Drive resident was assaulted with a weapon after meeting with strangers that responded to his kijiji ad for a used van. The male victim was taken to hospital with injuries.
WOODSTOCK - Police are sending out a warning to anyone who sells items online, to be extra cautious as to who you let in to your home.
The alert comes after a Porter Drive resident was assaulted with a weapon then robbed of the vehicle he was trying to sell, while meeting the strangers that responded to his kijiji advertisement. The incident happened on Wednesday around 2:00pm, resulting in the victim being taken to hospital with injuries.
Police are now looking for 3 suspects that fled the scene in the stolen White Dodge Caravan.
The first suspect is described as a white female about 5 foot 10 believed to be in her late teens with blonde hair, eyeglasses and fair skin.
The other 2 suspects are both black males, both with a slim build and both with afro hair styles, one was wearing a white windbreaker jacket, the other was wearing black clothing.
The vehicle stolen is a white Dodge Caravan 2008-2011 body style .
Police suggest arranging to meet with potential buyers or sellers in a safe public place or at minimum have another person present with you to avoid becoming an easy target.
