Diane Larder will become the CAO for Zorra Township once Don MacLeod retires later this year. She's currently the Director of Finance.
TOWNSHIP OF ZORRA - Zorra Township has a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Director of Finance, Diane Larder has been chosen for the position, upon the retirement of current CAO, Don MacLeod later this year.
Mayor Marcus Ryan says she's the right person for the job.
“Given the chance to go through a recruitment process or promote Diane, the decision for Council was challenging, but in the end, it was clear that Diane was the best decision for Zorra. Since joining Zorra Township in 2021, Diane Larder has shown commitment and a strong focus on inspiring service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and workplace cultural development.”
Larder is excited for this next step in her career.
“I want to thank Council for giving me this great opportunity. I look forward to working with Council, our staff, and the community in continuing to build a brighter future for Zorra Township.”
With the restructuring, the Township will have some municipal departments reduced from six to two. The Township is calling the restructuring a proactive step to prepare for the challenges facing municipal government as fiscal pressures mount on local governments.
The department of Public Works and Recreation will fall under the department of Public Services. Also, the department of Corporate and Protective Services will take over, Building/Drainage, Fire and Emergency Services, Finance and Legislative Services.
