The City of Woodstock is in the middle of the large item collection.
WOODSTOCK - Large Item collection is taking place in Woodstock.
The City's bylaw officers are going through the zones and making sure any items not collected are removed from the curb. Each resident is allowed 5 large items to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their collection week. Zone 4 will have their week start on Monday, and items have to be to the curb by 7a.m., while zone 5 will begin on the 26th.
Reasons behind items being left on the curb include, too many items, ineligible items, and materials being put out too late. If residents receive a notice from the bylaw department and action is not taken, the City may remove the materials and bill the resident or lay charges for violating the bylaw. If you are worried about getting a notice, you can discard items not picked up by putting them out for regular garbage pickup and they have to be bagged and tagged, or you can take them to the EnviroDepot, or the Oxford County Landfill in Salford.
You can find out all the information by visiting the City of Woodstock website.
