WOODSTOCK - Time is running out for Woodstonians to apply to the Citizens Police Academy.
The Woodstock Police Service will be holding the 10-week program in late March. It will run Thursday evenings and will include engagement with officers and community partners.
There will be classroom and hands-on experiences, which will cover a wide range of topics. Those topics are; ride along with an officer, Training Unit Forensic Identification, Criminal Investigation Bureau, Criminal Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit, Traffic Collision Reconstruction, Containment Team, Uniform Patrol, Community Partners, and more.
Residents who graduate from the program will come away with a unique perspective on the policing profession, and have a deeper understanding of the challenges faced and the measures required to maintain community safety.
Anyone interested in applying for the program will need to submit their application package, which will need to include a resume, cover letter, and the WPS application form, which can be found online. You can submit the application via email to communityservice@woodstockpolice.ca with the subject line “Citizens Police Academy Application.” Or you can take the package to the police headquarters at 615 Dundas Street.
The deadline to submit application packages will be February 19th at 4:00 p.m.
