Quadfit is one of three events happening at the Leap Day Family Roller Skate on Saturday. It's being organized by the Roller Derby Misfits in partnership with the Retro Rollers Inc. on the 29th.
WOODSTOCK - The Roller Derby Misfits in Woodstock are hosting Quadfit on the weekend.
It'll be a part of the organization's Leap Day Family Roller Skate on February 29th.
Bench Coach for the Misfits Bella Donna says there will be three different events going on that day.
"The first is the Quadfit, which is in partnership with Retro Rollers Inc. They put on an instructed skate session where they teach you how to dance to the part of fitness on four wheels, so that's a lot of fun."
She adds spots are still available for the Quadfit and there will also be a public skate families, along with an adult skate for people ages 16 and older.
Bella Donna says they're aiming to raise more awareness.
"So we're putting on this event to create a community space for everyone in Woodstock to get involved. Again, that's why we have the different events to reach different demographics, we want to be as inclusive as possible. And what we're personally getting out of this is just getting roller derby out to the people and welcoming them into the derby community."
She adds they're also hoping to gather donations as they're a non-for profit team which helps them keep their league running so they can put on these types of events.
Tickets are just $10.00 for the day. She adds to arrive 15 minutes early for Quadfit.
It goes from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm inside the Oxford Auditorium.
