Theatre Woodstock wanted to shine a light on their new lighting equipment.
WOODSTOCK - Theatre Woodstock has some new lights, thanks to a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Director of Special Events Laurie Schultz says their old equipment was outdated and it was time for a change.
"It didn't do a lot for us and it was very limited in what it could do. So the new lighting is cost efficient, is energy efficient and does a lot more for the theatre."
Theatre Woodstock held their Shining the Light Gala Friday evening; celebrating the $38,700 grant and offering a debut of the new lighting. Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman was there alongside Peter Fleming with the Ontario Trillium Foundation to mark the occasion.
Schultz says they also wanted to take the opportunity to honour all of the volunteers who have dedicated their time throughout the years.
"We have had hundreds over the 72 year history of Theatre Woodstock. Maybe even up to a thousand volunteers and we could not do what we do without volunteer so we are very grateful for everyone who participates in our little community theatre."
The next theatre season is on the horizon with their upcoming show I'll Be Back Before Midnight set to debut on October 12th. You can find more information online here.
