A local family is helping another in Woodstock. The Hons family will be hosting a bake sale in order to raise money, which will be donated to the Hematology Department at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. The event comes after Kelly Byers was diagnosed with Leukemia.
WOODSTOCK- A Kids Against Leukemia Bake Sale is taking place in Woodstock.
The bake sale happens tomorrow (Wednesday, August 2nd) from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Meadow wood Lane Mailbox at Lakeview Drive.
The event has been put together because local resident Kelly Byers has been diagnosed with Leukemia.
It has been initiated by Charlote and Isla Hons along with the Byers kids and other friends in the neighborhood.
Charlote says that the Byers family was one of the first they talked to and helping was a no brainer.
"Just in this past month, when Kelly got diagnosed with Leukemia blood cancer, we have been try to really help out as much as we can."
Charlote adds, if you are not able to stop by the bake sale, but want to donate, you can donate on the Sunnybrook Hospital website.
The proceeds will be donated to the Hematology Department at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, where Kelly Byers is receiving treatment.
