A big win for one Woodstock couple. Harold and Carol Westerdyk won big money during a Lotto 6/49 draw.
WOODSTOCK - One Woodstock couple is $69,978.10 richer.
Harold and Carol Westerdyk won the prize after the purchase of a Lotto 6/49 ticket. They were late scanning the ticket as they were on vacation. Harold scanned the ticket on his first day back to work, and could not believe it when his phone showed a big winner.
He went as far as restarting his phone to make sure the OLG app was not glitching. The couple has been regular lottery players for years and did not waste time celebrating. They took friends out to dinner.
When asked what they plan to do with the money, they said, "We plan to pay some bills, treat ourselves to a few special things and we already booked a nice cottage for a relaxing summer vacation."
The couple bought the ticket from J and P Variety 2 on Norwich Ave.
