Brandon Killam will get to see his favourite team in action, in Philly on April 2nd after getting a personal invite from Gritty.
A local Philadelphia Flyers fan with special needs is going to get see his favourite team in person.
The teams mascot Gritty invited Brandon Killam to the April 2nd game against Toronto in Philadelphia.
Brandon's father Jeff Killam says his son has always been a huge flyers fan.
"We have basically instilled the love of the Philadelphia Flyers since birth, we have gotten him hats, coats and jerseys and when it comes to hockey time, it is the household team that we watch, that is the one team we always watch and Brandon always gets more rambunctious and energetic when he watches the games, especially when the Flyers are in the playoffs."
Killam says Brandon was in born in 2001 with Cerebral Palsy.
"He also has epilepsy, TMJ disfunction, he was born with severe club feet and he has amniotic band syndrome as well. So Brandon has had a lot of surgeries really, well over 20 in the past 20 years that he has been alive and it has never slowed him down."
The family reached out to the Flyers to see if there was any kind of special message they could give to their die hard fan of a son. The response from the team went above and beyond what they were expected. Brandon was greeted with a personal invite from the team Mascot Gritty. The Flyers are going to have him at the game on April 2nd and they might have a few more surprises in store for him on that day. Jeff and Brandon also are excited about trying out their first authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich together.
