Zorra Mayor Marcus Ryan has a friendly wager with the Mayor of Lucan Biddulph as Thamesford Trojans face the Lucan Irish in the first round of the PJHL playoffs.
THAMESFORD/LUCAN - It's a friendly wager between two local mayors, supporting their teams in the PJHL playoffs.
If the Thamesford Trojans win their first round playoff series against the Lucan Irish, Lucan Biddulph Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson will have to sport a Trojans jersey during a council meeting.
If Lucan wins, Zorra Mayor Marcus Ryan will have to wear an Irish jersey during one of his council meetings, but he doesn't seem to be too worried about that.
"Lucan Biddulph Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson and I had a bet last year, which I'm sure I don't need to remind your listeners who won, but let's just say that Cathy had to wear the Trojans jersey in her council meeting."
The Trojans will be hosting Game 1 of the best of seven series at the Thamesford Area Recreation Centre tonight, with the puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Mayor Ryan will be there to cheer on the home team.
