Local police briefs include a theft from a CAT construction grader in Norwich Township and a shoplifting incident on Dundas Street in Woodstock.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Several items have been stolen from a CAT construction grader in Norwich Township.

Police believe someone damaged the door of the grader in order to gain access sometime after 7:00 p.m. Monday night.

It was parked just off Highway 403 in Norwich Township at the time. Police say GPS computer unit, a modem, and several tools were taken.

The Oxford OPP would like to speak with anyone who was in the area that night who may have witnessed something.

WOODSTOCK - A 37-year-old from Woodstock is facing charges after a shoplifting incident in their hometown.

The Woodstock Police Service was called out to a store on Dundas Street, close to Vansittart Ave, at around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officers found their suspect with the stolen items in the area of South Alley and Graham Street afterward. They have been charged with theft under $5,000 and obstructing a peace officer.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is investigating after someone smashed the back window of an SUV.

Police say it happened while the GMC vehicle was parked on Springbank Ave, between Devonshire Ave and Conestoga Road, Sunday night. 

Officers would like to remind vehicle owners to always remove personal and valuable items from their vehicles when they're left unattended.

WOODSTOCK - A 22-year-old has been busted for speeding in the Friendly City.

The Woodstock Police Service spotted a vehicle going 121 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officers are reminding drivers to obey the speed limits and to always be aware of their surroundings, especially now that we're entering into the warmer months.
