A Hickson resident is concerned about how the proposed High Speed Rail line would impact Oxford County communities, farmlands and roadways.
A local Hickson resident is voicing his concerns around a proposed High Speed Rail line.
If approved the rail line would connect Toronto with Windsor, cutting through Oxford County along the way.
Jim Muxworthy presented his concerns to East Zorra Tavistock Council earlier today alongside three other community members. He is worried about how the rail would cut off our roadways.
"There's not going to be very many crossings so we can cross the train tracks. You just can't drive over this High Speed Rail, it's too fast."
Muxworthy is also concerned about how the rail would impact local communities and farmland.
His main goal is to shine a light on this topic.
"I guess the Ontario Government or whoever; the Ministry who's promoting this High Speed Train is working at it and no one in the area that it really affects knows about it! We became aware of it and that's our goal; to get more people across Kitchener to London and London to Windsor aware of what is going on."
Muxworthy says he received a positive response from the East Zorra Tavistock Council. He hopes to present a delegation to Oxford County Council next week.
