The Art of the Warner Bros. Cartoons is coming to the Woodstock Art Gallery next year.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstonians will get a chance to catch that Waskly Wabbit when the Looney Tunes come to town.
The Woodstock Art Gallery is hosting The Art of Warner Brothers Cartoons next year which will include an in depth look at the Looney Tunes. Curator Mary Reid says they are really excited for this exhibit to arrive next year.
"So not only do you have original concept drawings, so you have the idea of how Bugs Bunny was coming into creation, but you also have the cels, so you can see how animation was created before we made the leap into digital."
The display will also feature model sheets, story sketches and concept paintings. It will take through evolution of iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester and Tweety Bird and so many other favourites.
Reid explains how they were able to land this exhibition.
"I actually was able to bring this exhibition in when I was working at the Winnipeg Art Gallery a number of years ago and so with that contact, I still remained friends with the collector of all this fantastic material. It took a little bit of sweet talking and telling him how fantastic Woodstock is and the gallery, he graciously agreed to have the presentation of this work take place here in Woodstock this coming Fall."
The exhibition will arrive in Woodstock next November for two months.
