Environment Canada has issued a winter travel advisory as we expect a major snow storm between 8-12 pm this evening.
OXFORD COUNTY - Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts today.
Environment Canada has issued winter weather travel advisory for today. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says we can expect a lot of snow tonight.
"We have an approaching low pressure system, that system is going to move through the Upper Great Lakes and into North Eastern Ontario and is spreading snow throughout much of the Province. The snow is expected to start in the Woodstock this evening, briefly intense through those evening hours and sort of lessening off in the overnight hours, with the possibility by Friday morning, we could be looking at 5-10 centimetres of fresh snow."
Coulson says visibility will be an issue during the evening hours when the storm first starts.
"It does look like the first few hours have the potential to give the lions share of the accumulation and then the snow tapers off a bit but continues through the overnight hours."
Coulson says the heaviest snowfall will likely happen between 8-12 pm this evening.
