The Woodstock Art Gallery will offer free family drop in days and an art camp this March Break.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery is inviting families to come together over the March Break.
They will be hosting free family drop in days from 11am to 1pm from Monday to Friday.
Director Curator Mary Reid says there will be lots to do.
"Families are welcome to come in and explore the art gallery and we also have various activities that you can take part in through our art cart. Some of the activities include exploring your own family tree, there's lots of opportunity to draw and do paper construction. Really you could allow your creative juices to flow and have a lot of fun together."
Reid says it's also a great opportunity to check out their exhibits.
"We have a brand new suite of exhibitions that have just opened up a couple weeks ago. The banner exhibition that we have is an exhibition that features the work of Ross Butler. Many of you will know him; he is the artist that inspired our Snow Countess outside the corner of Springbank and Dundas. We have lots of his fantastic agricultural portraits of mostly of cows and certainly of pigs and roosters and that's offering to be a very popular exhibition. We also have in our community gallery a recent exhibition by Mary Donlan which features her very ethereal abstract paintings. On our first floor we have our permanent collection exhibition and our most recent addition to that is a whole exhibition that's around mapping and place making and where do we place ourselves in our everyday world."
The WAG is also offering a March Break Art Camp from Monday to Friday for kids ages 5 to 12.
Campers will have access to lots of fun activities throughout the day and explore new territories, markings, maps, treasures, sculptures, collages, drawings, paintings, exhibits, experiments with a variety of creative techniques, and play some really cool games.
There are only a couple of single day spots available, but they are first come first serve. If interested call the WAG immediately at 519-539-6761 and use the extension 2801.
