The OPP want to make sure everyone has a safe and fun March Break.
OXFORD COUNTY - It is a week where kids are out of school, and safety measures are heightened.
March Break is the first extended holiday of the year and the Oxford OPP want to make sure residents stay safe. Community Safety and Media Relations Officer, Constable Randi Crawford says one word can cover a lot when it comes to safety.
"One thing I think we can all agree with is the tip of communication, I think that kind of covers everyone."
Crawford says if you are going away, make sure you have someone to check your home, and also not post on social media as that could make your home a target for crime. She mentions if you are traveling anywhere during the March Break, to use a service to help with any traffic tips or delays.
"The traffic likely is going to increase during March Break. So, we do have Ontario 511."
Crawford adds the weather will be warmer this week, and with that you will need to watch out and stay away from rivers, lakes and other water sources due to the melting ice.
