Families are welcome to take advantage of free skates this week in Oxford County hosted by Ernie Hardeman.
NORWICH/INGERSOLL/TILLSONBURG - The MPP for Oxford County is hosting his annual Free Skates during March Break in Norwich, Tillsonburg and Ingersoll.
Ernie Hardeman will host the first one this afternoon at the Norwich Community Centre from 1:30 pm to 3:00 p.m. Hardeman says it is a great chance to come out, enjoy some free ice time and meet your local MPP.
"It's also an opportunity to meet with the parents and hear about what's going on in the community and obviously that is what consistency week is all about, to talk to my constituents in the community and that is a great way of doing it."
Hardeman says the event has grown over the years and he is expecting to hear a lot of good questions at the free skates.
"I think there will be more questions about the upcoming election in June and giving suggestions on what we should be doing and what we shouldn't be doing and so forth. A lot of the time, the questions are things that effect people day to day and a lot of times it is even things that have to do with Provincial Government but they have someone from the Government to talk to, to bring up their concerns."
The Free skate in Ingersoll is on Thursday from 10:30 to noon and then later that afternoon in Tillsonburg from 2 to 3:30 pm.
