Calling all men interested in putting on their best high heels for an important cause! Men in Heels and Lunch on Wheels will return to Museum Square on June 14th.
WOODSTOCK - Don't be surprised when you see a large swath of men taking over the downtown core of Woodstock wearing red high heels.
The popular Men in Heels and Lunch on Wheels event is returning to the Friendly City on June 14th.
Despite the name of the event, women and children are welcome to participate in the DASO fundraiser as well.
Board Chair Mary Roberts says it is a great event and men really enjoy it.
"Usually groups of men sign up, there's some beautiful red patent leather shoes, high heels for the men to wear. They put them on and then walk for about two blocks."
It is a fundraiser that DASO relies on to continue the sexual assault and physical abuse programming they offer.
Roberts believes it's events like this that catch attention are exactly what DASO needs in the community.
"It's getting awareness about what DASO is and getting DASO's name out in the community to serve more women which is really important."
Along with the walk which gets started in Museum Square, lunch will also be offered by a few food trucks.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. with the walk starting at 12:15 p.m.
