Officials say it could be due to a medical issue
NEW YORK - The young actress who burst onto the scene in the 1990s has died at the age of 39.
Police say Michelle Trachtenberg was pronounced dead in her Manhattan apartment yesterday morning, stating that her death appeared to be related to natural causes and not suspicious.
A source has told ABC News that Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant and could have been experiencing complications.
Trachtenberg was known for playing Harriet M. Welsch in Harriet the Spy (1996), Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000-2003), Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl (2008-2012), Penny in the live action Inspector Gadget (1999) and Casey Carlyle in the Disney film Ice Princess (2005).
