Middlesex OPP say 28 years after a missing Middlesex man was declared deceased, they find him alive in the US.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY -- A Middlesex man who has been missing for 37 years and declared dead was located in the United States.
OPP say in September of 1977, then 32 year-old Ronald Stan was reported missing following an early morning barn fire in the former Township of East Williams.
Nine years following his disappearance, in 1986 the missing male was declared deceased by the courts.
Middlesex police recently reopened their investigation in July of this year as a result of a routine audit of the case. Their investigation found that the man was in fact alive and living in the United States under the identify of Jeff Walton, who is now 69 years-old.
The affected families and American authorities were notified and police have now closed the missing person case.
