The Mortgage Centre donates $50.00 from every mortgage they close and chose VON Sakura as this year's charity after donating to Andrew's Legacy last year.
WOODSTOCK - The Mortgage Centre Hometown Financial in Woodstock is teaming up with VON Sakura House this year.
Every year they pick a different charity and donate $50.00 from every mortgage closed.
Principle Broker and CEO Julie Brenneman says they started doing this a couple of years ago.
"We started with the Christmas Place, we would volunteer there with myself and my staff and then the next year we decided we would donate toys. So a few years ago, for every mortgage we would close, we would donate a new unwrapped toy. We also would send our clients a letter, showing them what we had donated to raise awareness for that charity. Last year we decided to donate $50 for every mortgage closed to Andrew's Legacy, I had met with them at one of the trade shows and I thought their charity was something I wanted to get involved with."
Last year they donated $6,000 to Andrew's Legacy and Brenneman explains why they chose VON Oxford this year.
"I think it is a really great charity in Oxford County. We have clients who have used their services or had a family member use the service and we personally know people who have used it as well, my staff and myself here at the office. It's definitely a charity that does some really great work and relies on donations, so we wanted to help them."
VON Sakura House is Oxford County's only residential hospice.
