January is National Crime Stoppers Month and this year's theme is Stand Up, Stand Together.
WOODSTOCK - It's National Crime Stoppers Month and the Woodstock Police Service (WPS) has expressed its gratitude for the non-profit organization.
This year’s theme is Stand Up, Stand Together and the WPS believes that Crime Stoppers has helped the community stand up to crime together for over 30 years, assisting in many investigations that have led to arrests, charges, as well as millions of dollars worth of drugs seized and stolen property recovered.
WPS Deputy Chief Nick Novacich says Crime Stoppers remains an invaluable tool.
"We are a City with diverse ethnic origins, cultures, and beliefs. This year’s theme of Stand Up, Stand Together promotes all of us to work with one another.”
Crime Stoppers Oxford President Glen Blair also made a comment recognizing the WPS and their commitment to them.
"Crime Stoppers of Oxford appreciates the ongoing support we receive from both our local police agencies, the Woodstock Police Service, and Oxford OPP in helping make our community a safe place to work and live. These partnerships are important for keeping the Crime Stoppers program successful."
