WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets owned Tavistock in the regular season, but so far they are coming up short in the playoffs.
Game 3 goes tonight in Tavistock with the Navy Vets trailing 2 games to none. Woodstock has yet to leave Oxford County in the postseason after taking on Norwich in the first round. President Devon Young says it's great to see such a high level of competition in the County right now.
"From my perspective and my perspective isn't the players perspective but I think the playoffs have been a lot of fun. I enjoyed the Norwich series because that is a top notch organization that does a really good job and I am enjoying this series even more. Tavistock, just like us, have made some big improvements over the past 5 years to get to where they are and as much as we want to talk about the Woodstock Navy Vets, I like that Junior C hockey is looking really good in the County of Oxford right now."
Young says the team needs to play there game if they want to get back into this series.
"I think that we have gotten away from our game a little bit, the things that we have being doing all year, the small little nuances of the game that bring the right results, I think we have just gotten away from some of those things."
Win or lose, the Navy Vets will return home on Saturday night for an important game 4 at the Southside Arena.
