All eligible Ontarians can now download their new enhanced vaccination certificate.
ONTARIO - You can now download your new vaccination certificate.
The province made them available over weekend, with three different download dates based on the month you were born. Starting today, all eligible Ontarians can now download the new certificate.
They include a QR Code and select businesses will be able to use the Verify Ontario smartphone app scan that code to make sure you're fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says this will streamline the vaccine verification process.
“We are making it simpler, faster and more convenient for Ontarians to show their proof of vaccination, allowing them to safely access businesses and other settings across the province. If you haven’t yet received your vaccine, please do so today.”
You can download your enhanced vaccine certificate online here or you can call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre 1-833-943-3900 to have it mailed or e-mailed to you. Once you have your QR code, you can save it to your smartphone or you can print a paper copy to carry with you.
Premier Doug Ford says the new certificates will officially take effect Friday October 22nd.
“The enhanced vaccine certificates and Verify Ontario app will give our businesses further comfort in their ability to operate safely as we take further steps to protect people’s privacy. These certificates remain a key element of our plan to protect the gains we have made while avoiding future lockdowns.”
