When the Reaper Calls will be hitting the stage at Theatre Woodstock. The production is set to get started tomorrow (Friday, October 20th) and run until Sunday, October 29th.
WOODSTOCK - Theatre Woodstock is about to debut its latest production just in time for the spooky season.
Director Ted McLauchlin says When the Reaper Calls is a comedic thriller about two university professors who are polar opposites with opposing views over whether there is life after death.
"One is kind of a stoic person who believes in life after death and he's very gentle while the other is this hedonistic, live for the moment kind of guy. They have got this constant battle going back and forth between the two of them."
They end up going away to a cottage on the coast of British Columbia with their wives, who are also polar opposites.
McLauchlin says you can expect lots of cool lighting and sound effects to help build the suspense.
"We've got some really talented people who have designed very special lightning. Rob Coles is a renowned and award winning light designer and I was very privileged to have him with us. We've got great sound effects and there's a lot of special effects on stage that the backstage people have to do and bringing that together was a challenge."
The show will make its debut tomorrow night (Friday, October 20th) and the final performance will be a matinee on Sunday, October 29th.
It's recommended for a 14-plus audience and tickets can be purchased online here or at the Theatre Woodstock box office.
McLauchlin stopped by the Heart FM studio alongside Pam Hagen, the producer of the show, on Wednesday October 18th. You can listen to their full interview with Dan and Marcie below:
