Veranda Property Investments is looking to bring a new Townhouse Development to Norwich.
NORWICH - Veranda Property Investments is looking to bring a new Townhouse Development to Norwich.
They were given approval from Council to amend the official plan at 8 Elgin Street (formerly Norwich Public School) to build 28 new houses. Mayor Larry Martin says council gave the approval earlier this week.
"It was an official plan amendment, a zone change to permit an increase density in filling and to change it from institutional to residential so it can accommodate 28 town houses."
Martin adds they had some positive discussion on the builds at the meeting.
"I was quite surprised, we had a lot of people at the meeting and not person was in opposition to it, they had some minor concerns that we felt could be addressed very easily and the developer felt could be addressed very easily too."
Veranda Properties still has some work to do to get final approval and construction will not likely start until the fall.
