Do you agree with the decision to prohibit cellphones in classrooms and block social media from school networks and devices?
ONTARIO - The Ford Government is cracking down on cellphones and social media in the classroom.
The province announced earlier this week, that it's going to prohibit the use of cellphones in Ontario classrooms unless the student receives permission from the teacher. This will impact students in Grades 7 to 12. Younger students will be required to have their cellphones off and out of sight for the entire school day.
All social media websites will also be blocked from school networks and devices, limiting access while on school property.
The changes will come into effect this fall, and the Ford Government is also banning vapes and cigarettes on school property. You can read more about the new policies online here.
