Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup this year?
NHL - We're down to the final four in the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs!
The Montreal Canadiens advanced to the Eastern Conference Final last night, after they beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime in Game 7 of their second round series. They will now face the Carolina Hurricanes, who advanced after celebrating a 3-2 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on May 9th. Carolina won that series 4-0 in the end and will host Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final Thursday evening.
The Colorado Avalanche will host the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final tomorrow night. Colorado advanced after celebrating a 4-3 overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild on May 13th, winning their best-of-seven second round series 4-2. The Golden Knights advanced the next day, after they beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-1, also winning their series 4-2.
The Golden Knights won their last Stanley Cup in 2023, a year after the Avalanche last won theirs in 2022. The Hurricanes won their last NHL championship in 2006 and the Habs have not hoisted the Stanley Cup since 1993.
