The Norwich Fire Service will not be organizing a Christmas Parade this year.
UPDATE 2: There will be a Christmas Parade in Norwich this holiday season.
The Norwich Firefighters Association announced yesterday that it has teamed up with local volunteers, including those with the Emily Stowe Home and School Association, in order to host a parade on Saturday December 2nd this year. It will be a morning parade with an 11:00 a.m. start time.
The parade will replace the pancake breakfast that was supposed to happen on December 16th.
Fire Chief Derek VanPagee says those interested in participating in the parade can reach out to Eric Kok by sending an e-mail to erickok98@gmail.com.

UPDATE: The Norwich Fire Chief has released a statement in regard to the Norwich Christmas Parade.
Derek VanPagee says even though the Norwich Fire Service is not organizing the parade this year, there is still hope that someone else will step up. The Fire Service is coordinating with other groups and working alongside Ward 2 Councillor Lynne DePlancke to make it happen.
He adds that parades will also be taking place in Burgessville and Otterville this year, so the Christmas spirit will be alive and well in the Township.

NORWICH - It looks like the holiday season might be a little different in Norwich.
The Norwich Fire Service will not be organizing a Christmas parade this year. According to a post on its Facebook page, the firefighters have to participate in mandatory medical training over the next few months.
It also says a pancake breakfast will be taking place on December 16th and Santa Claus will be there for the kids.
The Norwich Christmas Parade is traditionally held during the first weekend of December.
