The proposal has not received financial assistance from the Ministry of Long Term Care.
INGERSOLL - Oxford County has scrapped its proposal for a new long-term care home in Ingersoll.
County Council approved an application for a new 160-bed long-term care home back in January 2023. This would have brought the total number of County-operated long-term care beds in Ingersoll to 194 when you include the 34 existing beds.
But the application has not received additional funding support from the Ministry of Long-Term Care since then, so County Council made the difficult decision to move on from this proposal on November 13th.
A statement from the County recognizes that this is disappointing news for lots of people, but it also notes that it clears a path for the County to explore other opportunities.
