The Woodstock Bike Night Crew has joined forces with Unifor Local 636 once again to provide Christmas dinner boxes to less fortunate families this holiday season.
WOODSTOCK - Time is running out to nominate a family in need for a Christmas dinner box.
The Woodstock Bike Night Crew and Unifor Local 636 have teamed up for the third consecutive year and President of Woodstock Bike Night Gary Young says they have a new goal this year.
"We started in 2020. We fed 45 families in 2020, we fed 70 families last year and our goal this year is to feed 75 families."
Young also explained what families get in the boxes.
"You'll find there's an absolute full-course meal. It's not cooked. It's the turkey, 10 pounds of potatoes, two pounds of carrots, there are onions, there's stuffing and dessert. We also have gift cards for the kids from Giant Tiger that they donated."
The dinners will also include a bag of treats for pets if they are mentioned in the nomination.
If you know someone who is in need this Christmas, it's free to nominate them. All that is needed is their name, address, phone number, and a reason why they should be chosen. The deadline to nominate is this Saturday, and you can send them to woodstockbikenight@gmail.com.
The week before Christmas is when the boxes will be ready. This year, pick up is at 886 Dufferin - Door 2, but delivery is also available.
