The Norfolk County OPP released a statement for the amount of charges laid over the Pottahawk Sunday weekend.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Now that Pottahawk Sunday has passed, the Norfolk County OPP released a statement about the event and how it went.
Police say there was roughly six hundred boats and about two thousand people and during the whole weekend the marine police only laid a total of 9 charges meanwhile 19 charges were laid on land in the area.
Acting Inspector Jeff McNorgan, Interim Detachment Commander - Norfolk County OPP on staying safe during these events.
"The OPP would like to remind everyone during events like this and certainly throughout the entire year, there is no safe level of alcohol consumption when you operate a vessel or motor vehicle. Think ahead and be safe. Your life and the lives of others depend on it."
The OPP are attributing the lack of serious incidents to all the emergency services who were on site, able to provide immediate care and ensure safety.
