Police are asking the public to call an exterminator if you have bugs in your home, not 9-1-1.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk OPP are once again reminding the public to only call 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency.
The latest warning comes after a man from Simcoe called the emergency line because of bugs in his home. OPP say if you have bugs in your home, call an exterminator, not 9-1-1.
The OPP is urging all residents to use 9-1-1 when there is an emergency. Please call 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergencies. Accidental calls or abuse of 9-1-1 ties up emergency lines, communicators and officers which could result in the slower response to a real emergency, risking the safety of people who may need urgent help.
