NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Lots of historical sites in Norwich Township are getting ready to open their doors to the public.
Doors Open Norwich is set to take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday September 23rd.
Volunteer Gail Lewis says the event will feature nine sites throughout the township, in the Woodstock, Norwich and Otterville areas.
"They like to call it a one tank tour but really it will take far less than a tank of gas to do this tour."
Here's a list of the nine locations;
- Ross Butler Agricultural Art Gallery
- Gunns Hill Artisan Cheese
- Quaker Street Burying Ground
- Norwich and District Agricultural Museum
- Norwich United Church
- African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery
- Otterville Mill
- Grand Trunk Railway Station Museum
- St Johns Anglican Church
Lewis says those who participate the tours will get an inside look at the well known locations.
"Some of the sights that are commercial sites are open all of the time of course but you get an inside look. For example at Gunns Hill Artisan Cheese you will be able to have a tour there and it will be a more in-depth tour for Doors Open."
All of the locations will have a yellow Doors Open signs visible and they will have tour maps inside.
