Nostalgia Days will be taking place today and tomorrow in the Village of Norwich.
NORWICH - It's one of the first signs of summer in Norwich Township.
Nostalgia Days will be taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow in the Village of Norwich.
It's put on by the Norwich BIA every year, and Chair Jeannette VanLagen explains what it's all about.
"Nostalgia Days was started about 20 years ago and it's a street festival just to bring people into Norwich. It's a very small town with just one stoplight, so we just wanted to bring people in and have a good time."
It's a chance to check out all of the shops along Main Street. There will also be lots of different vendors set up outside including Sugar Rush, ERA 3D Prints, and Sew Stylish Sisters.
There's going to be a Kids Zone on Washington Street as well with face painting and nostalgic games donated by Stubbe's.
VanLagen says they're also going to have 10 food trucks downtown tonight for the Food Truck Fest.
"We have Pablo's Street Food of India, Indulge Ice Cream, Saw's Gourmet Dogs & Spuds, Crystal Fries, JTK Farms, Funnel Cake Dream, My Big Fat Food Truck, El Milagro, Leen's Fish Wagon, and Fo Cheesy."
Those who attend the Food Truck Fest will be able to enjoy live music from Murray Williams while they are there. There's also going to be a Fire Truck Demo tonight that families will be able to check out.
The Optimist Club of Norwich and District will be hosting its free Kids Fishing Derby at the Norwich Conservation Area from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. tomorrow with lots of prizes to be won.
The Norwich Legion also will be a busy place tomorrow, with Brunch from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and The Legion Rocks from noon until 11:00 p.m. It's free to attend and there will be five bands this year including East Hill, The Misfit Toyz, John Atlee Band, The Atkinson Brothers, and The Thompson Band.
The popular car show will be taking place across the street tomorrow, on the front lawn of Emily Stowe Public School from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
There will be a free shuttle available that will take people to the Legion, the car show, the downtown core, and the Norwich Museum. It's a covered wagon that's pulled by a tractor, with Mayor Jim Palmer behind the wheel.
