The Fusion Youth Centre is the place to be for kids in Ingersoll. The Youth Centre offers cooking programs, a full production studio, sports programs, video games, pool and so much more.
INGERSOLL - A familiar face is the new Manager of the Fusion Youth Centre.
Craig Boddy has worked at the Centre since 2009 and took over as Manager in May. Boddy says their goal is to provide excellent programs for youth in the community between the ages of 10 and 18.
"My vision is to continue to provide quality programs for youth in Ingersoll and around Oxford County for youth 10-18. High quality drop in program and structured programs that youth can enjoy. It is an inclusive atmosphere, safe and secure, so parents can really feel comfortable dropping their kids off at our centre."
Boddy encourages parents and youth to check out the Centre at any time and see all that they have to offer.
"Come in for a tour, check the place out, meet the staff, youth memberships are only $5 dollars for an annual fee. We also run several fee for service programs, where it is an additional cost, but those programs are more structured and more in depth. We currently offer music lessons, a graphic design program and a baking program."
The Youth Centre also has a full time job opening right now for a full time art staff member.
Boddy says the Youth Centre offers so many different fun activities for the kids.
"We have a state of the art recording studio and music room, so if you are interested in learning how to play the guitar, drums, key board or learning how to use the sound board, we provide that. We have a full sized commercial kitchen, we have a full sized gym, we have an art room, a tech centre where we have gaming computers, so kids came come by to game with each other. We have an I-Mac lab where we do graphic design, multi-media, we have a green screen where we can make movies, we are finishing a movie called Gone, right now and over the summer we had a Survivor TV show, where we split the kids up into tribes."
