Another quarterly payment from OLG comes to Woodstock, as they host Gateway Casino.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received a cheque for $449,142 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
It's a second quarter payment for hosting Gateway Casinos. The city has received $912,373 so far this fiscal year, and $29,507,520 since the casino first opened in 2001.
Oxford County MPP, Ernie Hardeman shares his thoughts about the funds given to Woodstock.
"Woodstock is able to offer local programs and improve the quality of life of our residents through the economic activity generated through revenue from Gateway Casinos Woodstock. The people of Ontario benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in the province to support provincial priorities.”
The money is put towards the city's community grants program.
