OPP Investigating Failed Amber Alert Dispatch

Police say yesterday's Amber Alert was sent to cellphones in the area where the child went missing, but it wasn't transmitted to phones in other parts of Ontario.

ONTARIO - The OPP would like to know why a recent Amber Alert was not transmitted to cellphones across the province.

An alert was issued for a missing three-month-old yesterday morning in Roseneath at around 3:30 a.m. She was found safe in Roseneath a few hours later and he father was taken into custody.

Police say the Amber Alert was successfully transmitted to phones in the area the child went missing, but failed to send to other phones in the province. An investigation is underway in hopes of resolving the issue.
