Firefighters were able to put out the fire, which happened on Bell St. No injuries were reported.
INGERSOLL - Oxford County OPP are investigating a house fire in Ingersoll.
OPP were contacted by the Ingersoll Fire Department when they responded to the fire on Bell Street on April 2nd at approximately 8:31 p.m.
According to the report, a neighbour was in their backyard when they noticed smoke coming from a home nearby and immediately contacted 9-1-1. The neighbour was unable to enter the home to check for residents due to the amount of smoke.
The firefighters were able to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to other homes nearby. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the initial investigation, the fire is being deemed suspicious. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been contacted and will be assisting the OPP with the ongoing investigation.
The OPP is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Oxford County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
