It's best to stay home if you can, but if you have to go anywhere tomorrow OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk has some safety tips to keep in mind before you get behind the wheel.
OXFORD/NORFOLK - Roads in Oxford County could become very hazardous over Christmas.
With a winter storm warning in effect, the OPP want to remind everyone to be safe on the roads.
Norfolk OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk, gives some tips to ensure you avoid collisions and return home to your family.
"With the amount of snow that's anticipated, if you don't have to go outside, the best place is to stay at home but if you do have to go out, make sure that your entire vehicle is cleaned off, make sure your entire lighting system is turned on, including your rear taillights, so you're visible to to other drivers because you could run into visibility issues."
He also asks drivers to stay patient, lower their speed, and prepare their vehicle for the weather with an emergency kit, clothes or blankets to stay warm, and washer fluid to see out their window.
"The last thing that anyone needs is a call or a knock on the door from a police officer saying that your loved one has been injured or deceased as a result of a collision."
Environment Canada predicts the inclement weather will take place over the course of the next two days, however it may take the roads longer to recover.
