The next phase of restoring the Old Paris Town Hall is set to take place this week. Brant County will be demolishing the old KFC building located at 28 Dumfries Street.
PARIS - The old KFC building in Paris is going to demolished this week.
Mayor David Bailey says Brant County acquired the land, located at 28 Dumfries Street earlier this year.
"There has been a lot of interest in this demolition project."
The County acquired the land where the KFC building sat in order to move forward with the eventual restoration of The Bawcutt Centre.
The Bawcutt Centre, formerly known as the Paris Old Town Hall, is located adjacent to the KFC property.
The business plan to operate The Bawcutt Centre will go to Council later this fall. The plan outlines how The Bawcutt Centre will be used to enhance social and cultural opportunities within the community.
The Bawcutt Centre is one of the oldest civic Gothic buildings in Canada.
