Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported within the TVDSB and an outbreak has been declared at Algonquin Public School in Woodstock.
TVDSB - A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Algonquin Public School in Woodstock.
Thames Valley reported two new cases of the virus at the school last night and there are now three active cases within that school community. Algonquin PS remains open at this time.
Southwestern Public Health declares an outbreak whenever officials find a connection between at least two cases.
Thames Valley is also reporting new confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 at Huron Park Secondary School in Woodstock, Thamesford Public School and Valleyview Public School in Ilderton.
Another two people have also tested positive within the Wilberforce Public School community in Lucan. Thames Valley is now reporting a total of 18 active cases within that school community. Wilberforce PS temporarily closed and switched to online learning earlier this week.
Contact tracing is underway and Thames Valley has already reached out all of the parents, guardians and staff members who have been affected by the most recent COVID-19 cases. If you don't receive a letter from the school board, your child is not considered to be at risk.
