Friends and Family of long haul truck driver John Grygorcewicz were able to give one big final good-bye on Saturday after a convoy of over 20 transport trucks did a drive by at Sakura House. John passed away on Monday.
INNERKIP - A huge convoy of trucks rolled through Innerkip on Saturday to pay respects and to say good-bye to their friend John Grygorcewicz.
The convoy had over 20 trucks in it and went from the Drumbo Truck Stop to the Sakura House. It was led by John's son, Steve Grygorcewicz with son in law Kevin Eygenraam riding shot gun. John was admitted to Sakura House after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer only 60 years old. He was able to be wheeled out in his bed to watch the whole thing and his family says he really loved it.
The front lawn of Sakura House was filled with family and the road in front was lined with cars of friends and family who took time out of their day to come and honour John.
John's daughter Stef Eygenraam says it was a beautiful tribute to her father.
"It really was the most incredible, moving event and our whole family is so thankful for this memory to last a life time."
Unfortunately John passed away on Monday. The convoy was organized by his son Steve as a way for friends and family to say goodbye and it is fitting that John stuck around to see it. He was just 60 years old and had been a long haul truck driver since 1989. You can read more about the convoy online here.
