Police reminding motorists to slow down in school zones after handing out 40 speeding tickets in two weeks.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police handed over 90 tickets during their back to school traffic blitz.
The two week initiative ran from August 31st to September 13th. Most of the tickets were for speeding and 40 drivers were hit with a speeding ticket in a school zone. A few tickets were handed out to drivers who passed a school bus with the red lights flashing which carries a $400 fine. Woodstock Police are also advising parents to educate your children about bus safety especially when exiting the bus. Ensure they look before they cross the street.
Woodstock Police have also investigated reports of people parking in no parking and no stopping zones in the area of schools. These signs are erected for the safety of our children. Woodstock Police are reminding motorists to obey all traffic signs.
