The 2021 budget could get final approval on Wednesday and the County council will get an update this week on how Ontario plans to shift the blue box program from municipalities to businesses producing the waste.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County residents will have a better idea later this week on what they will need to budget for next year when it comes to their property taxes.
County Council will be dealing with the 2021 Budget this Wednesday. The draft budget includes a property tax increase of 2 percent over last year.
Major capital projects in the proposed 271-million dollar budget include a watermain extension on Woodstock's County Road 4, and upgrades to wastewater treatment plants in Tillsonburg and Drumbo.

Oxford County County will be updated this week on how Ontario plans to shift the blue box program from municipalities, to those businesses producing the waste. The new program includes an expanded list of recyclable materials for County residents - and a consistent set of materials that can be collected in blue boxes, all across the province.
The Program will also require producers to meet diversion targets.
