Oxford County Reviews Ambulance Response Time Plan

Oxford County is sticking to what has worked in the past when it comes to the Ambulance Response Time Plan.

Oxford County reviewed their annual 2016 Ambulance Response Time Plan.

County council decided to accept an identical plan that was used in 2014 and 2015 which saw ambulances reach their destination ahead of the Provincial standard 80 - 90 percent of the time. Warden David Mayberry tells Heart FM why they decided to stick with the status quo.

"Fortunately this plan is based on the performance from last year as well. They will continue providing the same level of services, we are not cutting it down, we are not adding to it, we are meeting all of the requirements of the province - in fact we are ahead of the requirements from the province in most areas."

He adds residents should find comfort in the knowledge that our ambulances are arriving to destinations in plenty of time.

"Residents across the County should feel fairly safe and secure knowing that 90 percent of the time the ambulance will show up sooner than is necessary from the Province and if you read the report most of those times are around 10 to 14 minutes in wait times."

Mayberry says we have ambulances stationed across the County so we can meet those times and get people to the hospital.
