BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Teresa Piranino of Blandford-Blenheim Township received the Oxford Stewardship Award Wednesday night.
Piranino was singled out by the committee for outstanding work in preserving and caring for wildlife.
This includes caring for woodland and wetlands, as well as attracting and retaining more than 1,000 different species of plants and wildlife.
She and her family attend to their 55-acre property, preserving and protecting their property. This includes creating a pollinator field, to building underground habitats for the local snake population.
Oxford County is awarding Teresa with a $500 gift certificate from artist Wendy Gielis, gift baskets from Your Farm Market, and added to the recognition wall in the Oxford County administration building next to her fellow Oxford Stewardship awards recipients.
