The roads section of Oxford County's website is now mobile friendly and features an interactive map.
OXFORD COUNTY - Those who go online and check out the roads section of Oxford County's website, might notice it's looking very different lately.
Manager of Roads and Facilities Melissa Abercrombie says instead of just having written information about all the road and lane closures in the area, it now has a special map.
"We have now made an interactive map that allows residents to go on and see where construction projects are if they are just a lane restriction or if it's a full road closure in an area. They can also see what upcoming ones are going to happen in the next week or so."
People will also be able to look up when the closures are expected to open up again.
Abercrombie adds the website is also a lot friendlier with mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
"Our website before, when you looked at it on your smartphone and things like that you would have necessarily had to scroll over or change the font size by zooming in and out with your hand, where this is all automatically adapted to the smartphone when you log on to the website."
In addition to all of this, Abercrombie says people will be able to easily access reduced load information.
"In the spring months, there are restrictions on how heavy loads can be travelling on certain roads within Oxford County, both at the county level as well as the township. We've put all that information on, so that hopefully the residents of Oxford County can find both the county information and the township information all in the same spot relating to that."
People can also access moving permits and forms on the website.
